CU Ventures Fund Management (CVFM)

The CU Ventures Fund Management (CVFM) Program is an applied portfolio management program in which students learn real-world equity research and portfolio management by making live trades and managing a live portfolio.

The goal of the program is to prepare students for careers in the investment management industry by combining academic training with a real-world experience of conducting research, making recommendations, executing trades, and managing a live portfolio.

CVFM meetings are held periodically during the semester. One hour of the meeting is dedicated to presentations and half an hour is dedicated to collaborative work time. The students will as also be spending significant time outside of our meetings conducting research and analysis both individually and with other team members.

The CVFM program was officially launched in December 2016 after nine months of preparation. Our first cohort was comprised of eight analysts. Professor Tom Scholz, CFA serves as the Director of the Program.
