The program is designed to assist persons working in student personnel service positions in high schools, colleges and universities such as enrollment management and admission, resident life, student activities, academic advising, diversity, campus ministry, and deans and assistant deans. The program was developed using standards developed by the Counsel for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
The graduate program in Student Personnel Administration is designed to prepare graduate students for leadership roles in professional student service careers. The purpose of the graduate academic program is to provide qualified students with a challenging course of study, which will enhance their intellectual development, personal growth, and career satisfaction.
Together with other universities and colleges, the Graduate School seeks to prepare graduate students for the greater responsibilities in society as leaders in their respective field of study.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Individuals wishing to apply for admissions of the SPA program must submit the following items:
- Fill out online graduate application form with application fee
- Two(2) letters of reference on letterhead or recommendation form
- A resume of professional work experience
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended
- Evidence of an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university (or the equivalent)
- An undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater
These materials do not need to be submitted all at once. Receipt of the completed application form and fee is needed to formally initiate the admissions process.
