Program Overview

Concordia's undergraduate certificates provide students with the opportunity to specialize in another field outside of their major course of study. They can also help secondary/K12 education students earn teacher licensure in various areas of interest.

The physical education (PE) certificate expands upon your knowledge of how the human body works and best practices in physical education so that you'll be prepared to help your students work through physical and motor development stages.

Upon completion of the certificate, students will:

  1. Demonstrate, articulate, and apply core concepts, terminology, and principles, in the basic sciences as related to motor skills and movement activities (e.g. anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology, motor development, motor learning and student growth and development)
  2. Possess, demonstrate, and articulate basic knowledge and application in management, motivation and communication
  3. Possess and apply the concepts and principles for student planning, instruction, and assessment
