Products are being introduced to the market every day, make yours one of them

Product development is an exciting and rewarding industry that turns innovation into a marketable product. The Chemical Product Development program will help guide you through the development process and equip you with the resources, expertise, and connections you’ll need to join a thriving industry.

Program Overview

In our innovative MPD in Chemical Product Development track, students learn by doing. We’ve teamed with local chemical product development experts to design and teach our classes.

In each track of the MPD program, you’ll apprentice with industry partners and learn in state-of-the-art analytical and pilot-scale labs (like the new hybrid classroom/cGMP lab on the Innovation Campus). In addition, you’ll be able to take advantage of networking and collaboration opportunities provided by the Interprofessional Education (IPE) program.

We’re here to teach you the skills you’ll need to pursue a career in chemical product development. While pursuing your MPD degree at CUW, you’ll get to:

  • Partner with industry leaders on product development projects
  • Perform compounding work in state-of-the-art labs (cGMP; Cleanroom 100; ISO 5; USP 797 compliant)
  • Build critical-thinking and teamwork skills through case-based teaching and labs
  • Blend technical skills with business, legal, regulatory, and compliance knowledge
  • Learn how to use analytics and demand projections to make management decisions
  • Learn how to use concepts like Lean Six Sigma and sensitivity analysis to solve operations and process-optimization challenges
  • Focus on sustainability and boosting the triple bottom line: people, profit, and planet
  • Learn the entrepreneurial skills needed to start your own company
  • Fill an unmet need in the industry
What to Expect

You’ll learn a lot in this program from conceptualization and design to development and marketing. Professionally, you’ll be prepared to fill an unmet need in the industry. That is, after all, what launching a new product is all about.
