As a student in the Master of Church Music program, I feel that the curriculum defines exactly what we need to move forward in our field of study. It is a great blessing to have well-known faculty members who are extremely knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. The diversity of Christian denominations represented by the student body also lends a great wealth to the education process.”
"While realtors emphasize the importance of “location, location, location,” for me the education I received in the Master of Church Music at CUW was focused on “people, people, people.” The instructors are experts in their fields of study and provide students with a wealth of information, both practical and scholarly. The students become a family in that they study, eat, and live in close proximity to each other. The atmosphere of encouragement from both teachers and fellow classmates was an important factor in making my time at CUW a wonderful experience. The connection with musicians not only from the United States but from foreign countries is a valuable resource even after graduation.
Most of all, the education at Concordia was first and foremost Christ-centered. Although taught from the LCMS theological perspective, I appreciated the diverse religious backgrounds of the students of various ages and the richness of the discussions this diversity provided both in and out of the classroom. For me, CUW provided the ideal place for me to continue my education in church music, a university where I could become a better servant of the Lord."
"Pursuing a Master of Church Music has meant challenging classes, in-depth study, a diverse group of students, and world-class professors. All of these things have combined to create a program of study where I have grown in my faith and developed my skills beyond what I thought possible. I have deepened my understanding of what it means to be a church musician and, in the process, have made life-long friends. The Master of Church Music program is truly phenomenal!"
