The Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center

The opening of the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center

Maybe the most exciting event of 2019, CUW opened the doors to our new business and health sciences building in August. At the grand opening the community was welcomed to explore the space. Complete with 3D printers and an analytics lab, The Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center is a symbol of Concordia’s growth and the support of our donors. Take the tour here.

Stress-reduction resource

CUW leads the way with innovative stress-reduction resource

Amid rising demands for mental health services on college campuses nationwide, Concordia is leading the way in Wisconsin with an innovative stress-reduction resource for its students. Thanks to a generous grant from The Charles E. Kubly Foundation, Concordia’s SMART Lab (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) is designed to provide high-quality stress management services for undergraduate students. Visually impaired program

Wisconsin’s only Teacher of the Visually Impaired program begins

CUW launched the sole visually impaired teaching licensure program in the state of Wisconsin this past January. According to state educational data, about four percent of Wisconsin’s school-aged children are visually impaired. Even with the low incidence, Wisconsin lacks qualified teachers and, by federal directive, was in need of a program to provide a pipeline of teacher candidates for the state’s K-12 schools. Spanish certificate

Spanish certificate to give health care professionals an advantage

A certificate in Spanish for health care professionals is being introduced by CUW so students can enhance their degree in one of the world's fastest growing foreign languages. This 15-credit certificate, set to begin this fall, is being tailored so that graduates will be linguistically and culturally prepared to interact with Hispanic patients in their career.
