Program Overview

This program allows you to learn from instructors with a wealth of experience in small classes full of students who share your passion for positively impacting the life of youth. This program embraces faith’s role in the counseling process and equips you with both a practical skill set and a deeply rooted sense of respect for those you interact with.

What to Expect

Upon completion of this program, not only will you earn a master’s degree with the potential for licensure (make arrangements with your state DPI or DOE if you are outside WI), you will emerge with a greater sense of empathy as well as a feeling of empowerment as you continue your professional journey. Graduates will feel confident in their skill sets and fully competent to shape other’s lives in a positive way. Most of all, you’ll experience the excitement of embarking on a fulfilling and rewarding career as a professional counselor.

Graduates of the professional counseling program will:

  1. Integrate evidence based counseling theories, techniques and interventions into professional practice.
  2. Adhere to professional and ethical standards

  4. Serve clients according to their unique diverse needs
  5. Help clients to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in mind, body and spirit
Concentrations / Specializations
Graduates who have completed specific coursework are eligible for the SAC-IT (Substance Abuse Counselor – In Training) credential through WI DSPS
Licensure / Certifications
The professional counseling program track is an approved program by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and leads to a LPC-IT endorsement. The school counseling program track is an approved program by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for endorsement of a #7054 School Counseling license. K4-12 License.
