Services for students with accessibility needs
Welcome to the ARC Accessibility Services Office for Students with Disabilities. We value diverse identities and experiences, and we believe disability is an important aspect of diversity at Concordia University. The ARC partners with students, faculty, administrators, and staff to create accessible and inclusive educational and campus experiences for students with disabilities.
Whether you have a learning disability, physical disability, mental health condition, a chronic health issue, complications with pregnancy, a temporary injury or condition, the ARC would like to visit with you. The ARC facilitates access on an individualized, case-by-case basis. This interactive process requires collaboration and engagement between our students and the ARC staff.

Meet the ARC team
Christine Schultz
It is a blessing to serve as the Director of the Academic Resource Center and Accessibility Services for CUWAA. In this role, I oversee the daily operations of the ARC, connect students with disabilities to essential accessibility resources, and provide guidance and support to both students and faculty. I also collaborate closely with colleagues across campus to explore and implement innovative strategies that promote student success. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is meeting, supporting, and encouraging students of all ages and backgrounds as they pursue their academic and career goals. Helping them discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and take confident steps toward their dreams is truly what inspires me every day.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
Elizabeth Kirk
As the Academic Support Specialist, I oversee all academic support services, including Peer Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Peer Academic Coaching, and the Math Drop-In. I partner with students, staff, and faculty to promote ARC services and coordinate the hiring of tutors and support resources that best meet CUWAA student needs. I also lead the Striving Towards Academic Recovery (STAR) Program, supporting students in returning to good academic standing. Through one-on-one academic planning, I provide guidance and accountability for students who are falling behind or seeking additional support. If you are interested in working for the ARC, need a tutor, or would like to recommend a tutor for a course, please reach out, I am always happy to help!
"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4)
Megan Sauer
In my role as Testing Coordinator, I serve as the primary point of contact for faculty and students concerning all things related to testing center administration. These requests may range from collecting testing materials to proctoring exams. I also oversee the PROSPER program which offers our conditionally admitted online students the needed soft skills and accountability to thrive in a college environment.
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)
Cheryl Scharnweber
As the Writing Center Facilitator, I work with the students who deliver writing support to our university community. Some of my duties include recruiting and training new consultants, scheduling consultant coverage of the Writing Center, mentoring consultants through feedback and check-ins/training refreshers, ensuring consulting practices align with Writing Center pedagogy and university standards, serving as a resource for consultants as they navigate challenging situations, and promoting our Writing Center as a valuable resource to faculty and students.
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!" (Psalm 118:24)
