The purpose of Explore is to help undecided students settle into a major that best fits their God-given interests and skills.
A great share of student success can be attributed to one’s certainty and excitement about his/her academic major. Explore aims to bring clarity and enthusiasm into the world of the undecided student. We hope to get Explore students into a major by the end of their first year.
All undecided freshmen and anyone who wants to participate will be included in an e-mail distribution list and will have the opportunity to join the Explore group on your my.CUW.edu portal.
Explore students are encouraged to:
- Meet with a Career Services Associate to discuss the many kinds of assessments to further determine Interests, skills, or values. Students can take the assessments on line, then discuss results and potential academic majors.
- Meet with their academic advisor to create a semester schedule that best serves their current thinking regarding their undecided status.
- Work with the Career Services staff to secure a student mentor in a major that they are considering.
- Enroll in LA 101 – Career Exploration, a one credit course created specifically for Explore students.
Participation in Explore is voluntary. We are here to serve you, but you must take the initiative to take advantage of what we offer. God’s richest blessings as you pursue HIS plan for your life! For more information, please stop by S103 or call Career Services at 262-243-4401.
