Residence Hall Emotional-Assistance Animal (EAA) Policy

Concordia University is committed to compliance with state and federal laws as the laws relate to individuals with disabilities. As the laws pertaining to emotional-assistance animals are evolving, CU reserves the right to modify its policies and guidelines accordingly. The use of an emotional-assistance animal is determined in accordance with these applicable laws and regulations regarding whether such an animal is a reasonable accommodation for a disability.

Students with disabilities may seek an addendum to their housing contract to include an emotional-assistance animal as an accommodation.  This determination will be made on a case-by-case basis. The needs of the disabled person will be balanced with the impact that the animal has on programs or other members of the campus community. Please review the Residence Hall EAA Policy and Forms document for information on policies and procedures regarding emotional-assistance animals.
