SPEAKER BIO:
Susan Hurst, MSW, CAPSW has been a Medical and Geriatric Social Worker for 30 years, working exclusively with older adults and their families in a variety of settings in the Milwaukee area. She has served as a Community Educator and Caregiver Support group facilitator through the Alzheimer’s Association and is a member of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee. Susan knew she wanted to work with older adults after she spent 3 summers volunteering at The Lutheran Home and Luther Manor while in middle school and high school.
Personally, Susan attended Northwest Lutheran grade school and is a graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School. Although Susan and her husband of 30 years, Robert, attended the same grade school, they did not become friends until high school! Together they have 2 children, Rob and Tess, who both attended Our Redeemer Lutheran School and Martin Luther High School, classes of 2021 and 2026, respectively.
Rob is currently a first year Law student at Drake University in Des Moines, IA and Tess is a freshman at UW-Eau Claire majoring in Rehabilitation Science with the goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. Susan and Robert are still getting used to being empty nesters!
