About the speaker

Judd Schemmel joined American Family Insurance in 2013 as Federal Government Affairs Director. In this capacity, he was part of a team that oversaw American Family’s involvement in federal legislative and regulatory matters, industry relations & political action activities. In December of 2015, Judd joined the communications division at American Family as Community Investment Director. Judd’s responsibilities in this role includes oversight of American Family’s philanthropic and charitable activities across the company’s operating territory. Judd and his teams are responsible for operations of the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, as well as the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, and the American Family Insurance Championship, PGA Champions Tour golf tournament that has taken place in Madison in June of 2016 and 2017. Prior to joining American Family, Judd served for eight years as President of Edgewood High School in Madison, WI. Judd received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1985 and his law degree, also from Marquette, in 1988.
