The title of Dr. Richardson's workshop for the 2021 Literacy Institute is "Making Decisions in a Guided Reading Lesson."

Participants will explore the guided reading instructional decisions needed to move readers forward in the elementary grades. Decision points include using assessments to group the students and pinpoint a focus; choosing an appropriate text; prompting for strategic processing; targeting phonics skills for guided word study; and integrating the reading and writing.
