ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Richelle Martin is the Founder and Managing Director of the Winnow Fund, a $10 million venture fund based in Madison, WI. The Winnow Fund makes pre-seed stage investments with a focus on companies founded around innovative ideas originating at Wisconsin universities. Richelle is a Wisconsin native who obtained a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Her first opportunity to work with entrepreneurs was through the Law School’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, where she provided pro bono legal assistance to startup founders. Prior to starting the Winnow Fund, Richelle led the Office of Industrial Partnerships (OIP) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Richelle’s decision to create the Winnow Fund was based in part on a desire to minimize the hurdles encountered when moving innovations from campus to commercial markets.
