The Ankerbergs married in 1995 at Covenant Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and have two adult sons, Peter and David. Their ministry journey has taken them to Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas, and Illinois.

President Erik Ankerberg’s professional resume includes nearly 15 years of experience in leadership positions at Lutheran higher education institutions. Within this time, Dr. Ankerberg has led academic operations for three separate universities: as provost for Concordia University Chicago and Concordia University Texas, and as assistant provost at Wisconsin Lutheran College. He also taught at Concordia University Ann Arbor and Concordia University Wisconsin early in his career.

Jennifer has served 24 years in parochial and public schools as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coach with 16 years serving in LCMS congregations as teacher and church musician.

Erik holds a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in British Renaissance Literature from Marquette University. Jennifer holds a Master of Church Music from Concordia University Chicago and a Master of Science in Education from UW-Milwaukee. Both earned their bachelor’s degrees from Concordia.
