Students will learn how to cut/fabricate glass and the basics of glass fusing techniques.

This offering will take place October 21 and 22, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, and 9-11 a.m. on Sunday

Class Topics: The seminar will cover a variety of techniques and glass materials to create fused Glass Jewelry. Students will learn how to cut/fabricate glass and the basics of glass fusing techniques. Kiln firing and firing schedules will be presented. The addition of various forms of glass and other materials will also be discussed.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Jeff Shawhan is an Assistant Professor of Art at Concordia University in the 3-D Arts (ceramics, glass, sculpture and design). He holds a MFA in Ceramics from The University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and a BFA from The University of Wisconsin Parkside. Jeff is represented by numerous art galleries in the U.S. and is a world-class Snow Sculptor.
