This event for faculty will cover the best practices in writing multiple choice exams.

Writing multiple choice exams can be challenging. What characteristics make "good" multiple choice questions good? What characteristics of exam questions should typically be avoided? What is an appropriate balance of question difficulty across the exam? After the exam, what characteristics may help decide whether to keep or throw out a question? This session will explore these topics and provide an opportunity for participants to review their own questions using these principles of best practice.
