First Thursdays is an opportunity to learn about social work values that are implemented in the real world. Through the eyes of each month's speaker, students gain an in-depth look at social work careers, how social work values apply, and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a social worker.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

This month's speaker is Dana World-Patterson. Dana World-Patterson's unwavering dedication to teaching etiquette and image for over thirty years, and her profound impact on thousands of individuals, is a testament to her love for seeing people thrive. She has passionately dedicated herself to eradicating human trafficking.

She was a founding member of the County Human Trafficking Task Force, Chairperson of the Human Trafficking Task Force of Greater Milwaukee, established Foundations for Freedom, Inc. (a 501c3 not-for-profit entity specializing in strengthening women and girls to reduce ignorance and vulnerabilities through advocacy, awareness, education, housing, and prevention to end human sex trafficking), is the CEO of Visions Etiquette Training and Image Consulting, and has served in leadership roles on countless boards and commissions.

Finally, Dana believes it is okay to be better, and she was born for this time. She is an Author, Teacher, World Traveller, Creative, Mother, Wife, and good Friend. Dana loves fine things and continues to serve and explore this journey as a life-long learner.
