A conversation with Tom Barrett, former Mayor of Milwaukee and Ambassador to Luxembourg
Tom Barrett has had a remarkable public policy career that includes positions at the state, federal, local, and most recently, international level. Beginning in the state legislature as a state representative and state senator, he was then elected to the United States Congress where he served five terms. After his time in Washington, he returned home to serve as mayor of Milwaukee, winning five elections in the state’s largest city. Most recently, he represented the United States as Ambassador to Luxembourg for three years.
In Luxembourg, which boasts of “having a small footprint on earth, but a big footprint in space”, he worked with both government and private sector partners on satellite and technology advances in the civilian and military sectors.
