Love in a shoebox

We need your help to spread the love of Jesus to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child (OCC)!
OCC is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. The mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. These simple gifts are shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease.

Concordia is hosting a shoebox gift packing party on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 4-5pm in the Terrace Room. Everyone is welcome to attend!

A collection will take place from 10/31 - 11/13 for items to fill the shoeboxes. Bins will be located outside of the Siebert Dining Hall and Chapel of Christ Triumphant.

Here are items that are needed for us to pack complete shoebox gifts for the children:
Washcloths, toothbrushes, small notebooks and small pads of paper, pencil cases, pencils, pens, erasers, sets of markers, colored pencil sets, small stuffed animals, t-shirts (kid sizes or small adult), small toys (such as matchbox cars and small dolls), small balls (such as tennis ball or bouncy ball), hats or sunglasses.

Thank you for considering to participate in this outreach project!
