- Face-to-face cohorts or diverse online programs to meet your busy schedule. We provide expert instructors and consultants and draw on research-based practices through our rigorous accredited programs
- Professional development connected to university credit
- Receive $450 per eligible graduate course or $150 per eligible adult accelerated course
Upon completion of this program, not only will you earn a master’s degree with the potential for licensure (make arrangements with your state licensing agency if you are outside WI), you will emerge with a greater sense of empathy as well as a feeling of empowerment as you continue your professional journey. Students who desire licensure in another state must contact their state department of education for details about whether or not this coursework will meet state requirements. Students from outside of Wisconsin may earn a Master’s degree without teacher licensing. Graduates will feel confident in their skill sets and fully competent to shape other’s lives in a positive way. Most of all, you’ll experience the excitement of embarking on a fulfilling and rewarding career as a professional counselor.
Concordia University's Graduate Counseling Program prepares its graduates to be ethical servant leaders who value the diversity of God's children and embrace social justice with compassion. Graduates help others to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in mind, body, and spirit. Graduates of the professional counseling program will:- Integrate evidence-based counseling theories, techniques, and interventions into professional practice.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards
- Actively engage in self-reflection and lifelong learning
- Serve clients according to their unique diverse needs
- Help clients to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in mind, body, and spirit
Students in this program enroll in one of two tracks:
1. Professional Counseling LPC-IT
2. School Counseling WI DPI #7054
In addition,
- Substance Abuse Counseling - Graduates who have completed specific coursework are eligible for the SAC-IT (Substance Abuse Counselor – In Training) credential through WI DSPS.
- A Christian Counseling certificate is also available for those who wish to gain skills with additional coursework. This certificate can also be taken as a stand-alone certificate.
