Mechanical engineering is a field of study that involves design and development, and analysis and control of devices and systems. It addresses topics such as solids, fluids and materials/manufacturing from fundamentals to specialization. Mechanical engineers address many challenges related to things all around, household refrigerators, automotive engines, airplanes, and more. The program will have a solid foundation in chemistry, physics, and math, and a curriculum including mechanics, material science, thermodynamics, and so much more. Finite element method will be employed for stress analysis of machine components and similarly energy systems are evaluated using computational fluid dynamics. All of these will prepare you for a versatile career to improve your community and the world around you.

The Mechanical Engineering program consists of 133 credits, completed over eight semesters. You will practice skills with hands-on experiential learning opportunities in modern labs, under the supervision of qualified and experienced faculty. You will complete a capstone design project and are strongly encouraged to complete an internship.
