Undergraduate application steps

For first-time freshmen and transfer students:

2. Provide Official High School Transcripts (college transcripts, if applicable)

Optionally, high school seniors may provide their ACT score.

Concordia University will seek to have its B.S. Mechanical Engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology; the application is due upon the graduation of the first cohort.

This new academic program has been fully approved by Concordia University and is currently being reviewed by our accreditor, Higher Learning Commission (HLC). 

The Mission of Mechanical Engineering is to positively affect communities by developing Christ-centered engineers with strong analytical, design and laboratory skills, ready for industry or advanced study.

The Vision of all Engineering programs at Concordia is to produce Christ-centered Engineers, who will positively affect communities by integrating their faith and knowledge to create a safer, healthier and more efficient world by applying best practices, modern techniques, and innovation to their vocations.

Based on the University Mission and the Engineering programs mission, the Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of the Mechanical Engineering program are to produce graduates who during their professional career will be:

Based on the University Mission and the Engineering programs mission, the Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) of the Mechanical Engineering program (also called studernt outcomes in ABET terminology) are:

• Outcome 1: An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  
  
• Outcome 2: An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  
  
• Outcome 3: An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  
  
• Outcome 4: An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situation and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and social contexts.
  
  
• Outcome 5: An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  
  
• Outcome 6: An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
