Program Overview

Embark on your first step towards a degree in medicine

Concordia’s pre-medical pathway offers a seamless transition from a bachelor’s degree to a doctorate; preparing you for either Osteopathic (D.O.) or Allopathic (M.D.) medical schools.

How is this pathway special?

Our Pre-Medical pathway Provides rigorous academic preparation, hands-on learning experiences, and personalized support within a Christ-centered environment. The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences is the ideal major for those interested in the pre-medical track. You will gain strong foundations in biology, chemistry, and health sciences, ensuring you are well-prepared for medical school.

  • Solid Foundation: Our curriculum is aligned with medical school prerequisites.
  • Faith-Based Education: Grow as a well-rounded physician with a Chris-centered academic foundation.
  • Hands-On Learning: Gain technical skills and real-world experience that set you apart; weather that be through Freshman year cadaver experience or individual access to our Anatomage tables.
  • Personalized Approach: Benefit from individualized support including free access to tutoring and supplemental instruction.
  • Research: You will have mentored research opportunities.
  • Dedicated Advising: Gain access to a team of advisors to ensure you are well prepared for medical school.

The Concordia advantage

Our partnerships with two Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) medical schools; Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM), provide you with amazing advantages for getting into medical school.

  • Guaranteed Interview: All CUW graduates who meet certain GPA and MCAT score requirements are guaranteed an interview with ICOM.
  • Reserved Pathway: Reserve your place in medical school early through Concordia’s direct partnership with LECOM.
  • Flexibility in Learning: Choose from four unique medical school pathways at LECOM to fit your learning style and career goals.

Is a D.O. right for you?

Although both are fully licensed physicians, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) receive additional education in osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM); a hands-on approach that complements patient care. Doctors of Medicine (M.D.) on the other hand, follow the traditional allopathic model, emphasizing evidence-based diagnosis, treatment, and clinical specialization.

Medical College Admission Test may not be required

Through our distinct partnership with LECOM, taking the MCAT is not required for qualified students! This will save you stress, time, and money in your pathway to achieving your Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree!

What to Expect

Immersive experience

Starting your freshman year, you will be hands-on in the anatomy lab with cadavers and have individual access to our Anatomage tables.

Faculty uses finger to interact with a digital anatomy visualization on CUW’s Anatomage table, pointing to the detailed 3D rendering of a human head and upper body.

The Anatomage Table is a life-sized, touchscreen digital anatomy system that will help you explore God’s design of the human body with clarity and depth.

CUW's anatomy lab with stainless steel dissection tables, overhead surgical lamps, wall-mounted monitors, and a red accent wall.

In the anatomy lab, you'll have opportunities to interact with cadavers. By combining classroom and laboratory education, you'll graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in your doctoral studies.
