Move out instructions

March 20, 2020

A few notes about moving out from the Director of Residence Life.

Dear CUW resident students,

I have a few notes I want to share with you:

First of all, even though campus is closing, those of you who have scheduled a time to move out will still have access to your hall/room to do so at your scheduled time. Thank you for working with us to clear resident halls as much as possible. We are trying to create a safe place on campus for students who have nowhere else to go. The safe place includes allowance for social distancing and private bathrooms should someone need to self-quarantine. That limits our options and as you can imagine, is a large task with our otherwise full halls.

For those of you who can get back to campus to clear your space, we thank you and we appreciate the personal sacrifices you are making to fulfill this request. We understand some of you simply cannot get to campus and do not have friends or family in the area who can clear out your room for you. We understand this and we appreciate your situation. Please continue to communicate with your RD regarding your personal plans. Your RD is trying to schedule a staggered check-out for hundreds of students as quickly as possible. Thank you for cooperating with them in this endeavor.

If you are not approved to live on campus at this time, please update your Amazon account to change your shipping address. Our mailroom is not able to hold all the packages until campus re-opens. Any other mail orders or subscriptions should also be updated. If you are still coming to campus to remove your belongings, please empty your mailbox in the undercroft as well.

If you applied for Room Selection, we have not forgotten you. We have your information and will share our plan to facilitate an on-line Room Selection process with you at a later date. For now, just watch your CUW email for updates.

Finally, thank you all for your continued engagement with us. God bless you with peace, comfort and courage. I invite you to join the entire Residence Life Department as we hold on to our 2019-2020 theme verse: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
