The Undergraduate Pre-professional Church work Organization (UPCO) is a student-led organization of Concordia University Wisconsin. The goal of UPCO is to have a hand in the growth and development of CUW students who have a future in both professional and volunteer church work. Students majoring in Lay Ministry, Pre-Seminary Studies, Lutheran Education, Missions, and Parish Music are strongly urged to become members of UPCO. However, this is not an exhaustive list! Students majoring in Psychology, Philosophy, and Nursing have also found UPCO a helpful resource.
UPCO serves future church workers by:
- Inviting local experts in areas pertinent to church work to present
- Coordinating servant events to serve both Concordia and the wider community
- Linking students to valuable resources such as the LLMA, the CBI, and the CCB
- Hosting the Concordia Apologetics Conference
Recognizing the great benefit that apologetics offers to the Christian, UPCO decided that it would organize the Concordia Apologetics Conference. This conference brings to the table some of the best minds in Christianity today, individuals who specialize in areas related to apologetics.
It is our hope that UPCO can continue to effectively serve Concordia by equipping those who will spread the saving Gospel of Jesus.
If you are interested in joining UPCO, would like more information about the organization, please contact Dr. John Oberdeck at (262) 243-4458 who will put you in contact with a member of the executive board.
