We're with you every step of the way
Welcome to Concordia from the International Center! Everyone in the Concordia International Center (CIC) has lived and studied abroad, so we get how long and confusing the process can be. That’s why we’re here to help, every step of the way.

Office of International Education
About Me:
I have always enjoyed helping those from other countries navigate society and culture in the US. I have attended numerous ethnic festivals in the US, taught English language and citizenship locally, and studied abroad in Mexico. These are all experiences I draw on to assist CUW students as a member of the CIC team.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
Huatulco, Mexico—This is first time I had ever seen the ocean, and it was gorgeous!
Why I Love CUW:
My CUW team is amazing and supports me every day in working with students from across the globe. The international students that attend CUW are also a joy to work with, and I am proud to see them succeed in their goals.

Chris Gallagher
Director of International Student & Scholar Services
About Me:
I have worked in international exchange for over 20 years, and I got my start when I myself was an exchange student, studying abroad in France so I can understand the unique needs of international students and help guide them to success. Here at Concordia, we care about each student, and make time to get to know them and celebrate their victories.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
France, because I speak the language, and love French history, art and architecture and of course French food.
Why I Love CUW:
I love the strong culture we have at Concordia, and our beautiful lakeside campus. We are Christ-centered and we believe in the Christian value of “servant leadership” – even as leaders, our focus is service to our students.
About Me:
I am blessed to serve as the organizer for our new student orientations, campus events that highlight cultures from around the world. I help in Introducing our international students to new American cultural experiences and as a relationship connector for our students on campus and in the greater community.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
I love to visit Japan, because I love the kindness of the people, the beautiful culture and the delicious food.
Why I Love CUW:
I love that CUW is a Christian University and we are encouraged to serve with a heart like Jesus.
About Me:
After spending my early career working abroad in Europe, Africa and Asia, I returned home to Wisconsin to start a university career with study abroad. More than 20 years later, I still enjoy connecting students to study abroad programs that fit them academically, financially and personally.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
So many amazing places; I can’t choose!!!
Why I Love CUW:
Concordia is a warm and engaging place that offers easy access to so many exciting opportunities!
Office of International Admissions

Jennifer Tadeo
Director of International Recruitment and Admissions
About Me:
Serving others through mission trips to Mexico is how I was first introduced to a culture outside of the U.S. This introduction led me to study Spanish in college and pursue a semester abroad in Costa Rica where we visited Nicaragua, Cuba, and even had the opportunity to experience Holy Week in Guatemala. Since then, I studied International Relations and have traveled around the globe supporting international students pursuing their dream of studying abroad. Currently, as Director, I support our team of recruiters and counselors that value global exchange.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
It is so hard to choose! I love visiting Latin America. Costa Rica has a special place in my heart since this is where I studied and first learned to salsa dance. My family and I also love visiting Mexico.
Why I Love CUW:
CUW is blessed to have students from around the world. We also have amazing faculty and staff that care about student success. As an added bonus…the view is amazing!

Amber Schiessl
Assistant Director of International Admissions Operations
About Me:
I have been with CUW admissions since 2011, working with a wide range of students from undergraduate to graduate, domestic to international. I currently work behind the scenes to ensure the international admission process is working smoothly and efficiently, and to provide international students with the immigration documentation needed to study in the US.
My Favorite Place to Visit (and Why):
My favorite place to visit in the world/why: Santorini, Greece. I visited there while studying abroad in college and look forward to visiting again!
Why I Love CUW:
I love Concordia because it always feels like coming home. This is a place where people genuinely care about others and live out their faith and values. The administration, faculty, and staff are hungry for growth and love to collaborate to make it happen.

Being part of a strong Christian environment at CUW allows me to grow personally and spiritually while helping students find their place here.
