Borrow and renew books, videos and more from the library
We welcome Concordia students, faculty, and staff to borrow items from the library. It’s quick and easy to access the materials you need. Below are frequently asked questions to help you.
Who can borrow?
- Current CUWAA students, faculty and staff
- CUWAA alumni with an alumni ID and current patron record
- SWITCH consortium members through resource sharing services
- Local area community members with CUW courtesy card
Library Patron Account and Access
Current faculty, staff, and students need a library account to check out materials. Student library accounts are created once you have registered for a class. If you need help with your library account, please contact the library at 262-243-4330.
How long may I keep library items that I have borrowed?
- Students, staff and alumni: Library books can be borrowed for 28 days
- Full Time Faculty: Library books can be borrowed for 180 days
- CDs and DVDs can be borrowed for 28 days
- Reserves can be borrowed for 2 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days
- Reference items and journals may not be checked out
- SWITCH materials are loaned at the discretion of the owning library for 7-28 days
How can I renew my books?
Easily renew your books online through your library account in Primo. Click the "Menu" drop down in the upper right corner of the Primo landing page, click "My Library Card", then sign in to your Portal account to see items you have on loan to renew. You can also renew your items by calling or emailing the library, or by bring your items to the library in person.
Please note: SWITCH items may be renewed once.
Are there fines for overdue items?
Overdue item notices are sent via email. The library offers a 10-day grace period during which you may renew the books online. If you have not renewed or returned the items after this grace period, you will be charged for the full replacement cost of any overdue items.
