Trading a classroom for a classroom
Anybody in education will tell you, there’s only so much you can learn in the classroom. The real learning takes place … in classrooms. No, that’s not some poor attempt at a pun. We mean it literally. It’s what we call Field Experience – that’s the time you spend in an actual classroom setting prior to your required semester as a student teacher.
Why is Field Experience so valuable? Not only does it give you a proper “real life” teaching experience (before the reins are handed over to you entirely), it allows you to truly put into practice all that you’ve learned in the Education program at CUW thus far. It will help you gain the confidence you need as you move one step closer toward becoming a full-fledged teacher.
Wide-ranging experience
Our students have the opportunity to complete their field experience in public, private, and parochial schools all across the state, and even occasionally the country. Which means you’ll be sure to gain a meaningful, diverse experience in a supportive environment as you prepare to enter the field of teaching.
