During your pre-student teaching field experience, you will have the opportunity to observe, plan, teach, and assess a classroom of students within your content area. You will arrange your schedule so that you can teach three to five consecutive lessons, or learning segments, during the same class period (5 lessons for traditional scheduling and 3 lessons for block scheduling). You will also need to arrange to record at least one full lesson you teach. Prior to the start of your scheduled pre-student teaching field experience week, you will observe the Host Educator and the classroom environment and begin planning for your teaching segment. This observation and planning component will be a minimum of 5 hours. Your teaching segment will be a minimum of 5 hours, totaling at least 10 clinical hours for your pre-student teaching field experience.
