Concordia students from the following academic programs have the opportunity to work closely with individuals from differing healthcare fields while applying the knowledge they’ve accrued in class to a slow-paced, but highly realistic, hands-on learning environment with actual patients.

Student experience

Clients know you're a student and often want to help you learn. As a result, they usually are highly motivated to progress and do well. As a student you will:

• Hands-on: Practice hands-on treatment skills on a diverse populace with various diagnosis.
• Giving back: Experience the process of providing direct access to clients in the community that can benefit from these services.
• Documentation: Practice the process of documentation through an electronic medical records system (EMRs).
• Practice: Have additional practice outside of the required clinical rotations as part of your discipline.
• Direct feedback: Accumulate first-hand results of your interaction and treatment intervention through direct feedback from the client, client’s family, and faculty.
• Collaboration: Experience holistic interprofessional collaboration opportunities.
• Interprofessional rounding: Participate in interprofessional rounding.

Interprofessional education

The Interprofessional Clinic has an emphasis on inter-professional collaboration, and inter-professional learning.

“Interprofessional education (IPE) is an experience that occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other…” (WHO, 2010)

The culture of Interprofessional Education is expressed by structured and planned inter-professional education and practice (IPE/P) opportunities for students, as well as collaborative team-based care principles within the clinic.
