Forward in faith
We have a Lutheran teacher shortage. One reason for that is the rising cost of higher education. The Forward in Faith Lutheran Teacher Scholarship is a $2,000 merit scholarship given to students who intend to enroll in the CUW Lutheran teaching program and eventually teach in a Lutheran school (LCMS).
Selection
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on an eight-to-ten minute competitive video submission which addresses the following prompts:
- Share a personal story, moment, or experience which explains why you want to become a Lutheran school teacher.
- How has God equipped you in a special way to become a Lutheran school teacher?
- How will your Lutheran classroom or approach be different than a teacher serving in a public school?
- What is your greatest fear or challenge in wanting to become a Lutheran teacher? What do you plan to do about it?
- What is the one thing that you would want a future Lutheran school principal to know which separates or differentiates you from others?
- Students from any Lutheran high school are eligible for this scholarship
Award/recognition
Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Lutheran high school’s awards night/ceremony by a CUW School of Education representative.
