Museums
Shawano Heritage Park
The site of Shawano County's first sawmill built in 1843. Five museums include the Kast House built on site in 1871, schoolhouse built in 1895, reconstructed 1800's log cabin, 1930's limestone building, and "Oil House" now an agricultural museum. Operated by the Shawano County Historical Society, 524 N. Franklin St., Shawano). Museum open Thurs. 1:30-4:30 pm, Sat. 9:30 am-noon, or by appointment June, July and Aug.
Menominee Indian Tribe Cultural Museum and Logging Camp
State Road 47 & County Road VV The museum is open Monday through Friday 8-4:30; the logging camp is open Monday through Friday, 9am, with the last tour starting at 3pm. The logging museum has the largest collection of logging artifacts in the world. Tours are given on Saturday with advance request.
