Welcome to CUW, Future Falcon!

Your college orientation is an essential piece of your overall success as a student, which is why we’re thrilled to guide you through your Uncommon Orientation experience. This is not the same college orientation that your siblings, parents or even friends may have had; our Uncommon Orientation will allow you to get acquainted with CUW, gather wisdom from upper-classmen, faculty and staff, and empower you to play an active part in creating your academic schedule.

Student Orientation

Your next steps consists of the following:

  • Online Orientation
  • Academic Advising & Registration
  • Falcon Days (only for Fall-start students)
  • New Student Orientation

Completing all phases of Orientation will ensure that you are prepared not only for your first year at Concordia, but for your entire experience as a Falcon. Your Admission Counselor and Academic & Career Advisor will walk alongside you each step of the way, so don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. We’re excited to get started, and once again, welcome to Concordia!

Online Orientation

To help you get to know CUW as well as learn what it's like to be a Falcon, all students are required to complete the Online Orientation. Our Online Orientation will walk you through several modules to ensure you have all the information you need to begin your journey at CUW. It is important that you complete these modules BEFORE meeting with your Academic & Career Advisor to register for class, as your advisor will reference some of the content during your meeting. Details about accessing Online Orientation will be sent to you via email by your Admission Counselor.

Academic Advising & Registration

If you haven’t done so already, make sure to register for an opportunity to meet 1-on-1 with your Academic & Career Advisor! During this virtual meeting, your Academic and Career Advisor will connect with you to walk through the process of registering for courses. They will also provide additional information pertinent to your academic success at CUW. These appointments will take place via Zoom. Details regarding your meeting will be sent to you via email within two weeks of your scheduled meeting date.

Please speak with your Admission Counselor to learn more about setting up your Academic Advising & Registration appointment.

Falcon Days

Falcon Days are an optional, but a highly encouraged part of new student orientation. These days are designed for for all new incoming falcons, whether you're a transfer student or incoming first-year student. The goal of Falcon Days is to provide all the tools you need to feel prepared for your life as a student. Learn about residential and commuter life, get your financial aid questions answered, and connect with resources that will aid your transition to CUW.

New Student Orientation

Packed with social and academic activities, this multi-day experience will get you good and ready for year one. If you plan to live on campus, you’ll kick things off by moving into your new residence hall. But it’s also for transfer, residential, commuter, adult students, and family, too! So prepare yourself for a weekend to remember. The fun continues all week!

Parent & Family Engagement

Parents and family members – we did not forget about you! We also have an online orientation, specific to parents and families, that will provide you with important information on supporting your student in this transition to college. Details regarding access to your online platform will be sent to the “parent” email address you include in your student’s Academic Advising & Registration form.
